What ASAP means on Cargo One
ASAP stands for "as soon as possible". It is live dispatch: the job is offered to drivers who are online and available at that moment, rather than booked for a later date. There are two ASAP booking types.
ASAP Transport is for moving things now, from a single parcel or a marketplace collection to a van load. ASAP Recovery is for vehicles that need moving now, such as breakdowns, non-runners and accident-damaged vehicles. Both work in the same live way, and neither comes with a guaranteed arrival or response time, because it depends on which drivers are available near you when you book.
How live dispatch works, step by step
Every ASAP booking follows the same flow, whether you're moving a sofa or recovering a car.
- Enter the details: pickup, drop-off and what's being moved. For recovery, add where the vehicle is, where it's going, whether it runs, whether you have the keys and whether the wheels turn.
- Choose a vehicle and see an instant price straight away.
- Pay the booking fee: Pay Cargo One's booking fee by card. The driver's price is paid to the driver on delivery.
- Nearby drivers are alerted: available drivers near the pickup with a suitable vehicle are alerted first, and the search widens if needed.
- A driver is assigned: the first suitable driver to accept is assigned to your job.
- Track it live: follow the driver on the map from acceptance, through collection, to drop-off.
- Get photo proof: the driver uploads photo proof when the job is done and you get a notification.
What you see in the app
The app keeps you informed at each stage, so you're not left wondering whether anyone is coming.
- An instant price as soon as you've entered the job and chosen a vehicle
- A clear waiting state while nearby drivers are being alerted
- The moment a driver accepts, and who is coming
- A live map showing the driver from acceptance, through collection, to drop-off
- Photo proof when the job is done, with a notification to let you know
ASAP Transport vs ASAP Recovery
ASAP Transport covers goods and items: same-day deliveries, urgent collections, last-minute marketplace pickups and business jobs that can't wait until tomorrow. You choose a vehicle that suits the load.
ASAP Recovery covers vehicles. You tell us about the vehicle and its condition, choose a suitable recovery vehicle and the job goes to recovery drivers near you. Recovery drivers use vehicles such as tow trucks, flatbeds and low-loaders, depending on the vehicle being moved.
Safety first
If you've broken down, your safety comes before booking anything.
- Get yourself and any passengers to a safe place, away from moving traffic
- Switch on your hazard lights
- If anyone is in danger, call 999
- On a live motorway, the official services move the vehicle first; book recovery once it is in a safe place
Cancelling while you wait
While your job is still waiting for a driver, you can cancel it in the app and your booking fee is refunded in full. Once the vehicle or items have been collected, the job can't be cancelled in the app, so contact support.
